Portrait of yoga teacher Tammy boysen

Tammy Boysen

Tammy returned to the practice of yoga as an adult and immediately felt the sense of ‘coming home’. The practice helped find emotional, physical and mental balance and harmony, which helped enormously in facing the challenges of raising a son with disabilities in a neurotypical world.

Once an Art Teacher, Tammy has worked in secondary and special schools and practiced as a ceramic artist as well as several periods of home educating her eldest son. After keeping a regular practice of yoga for some years, she embarked on a Yoga Nidra training, followed by a 200 hour yoga teacher training and more recently qualified in a level 1 Restorative Yoga course with Adelene Cheung. She has taught a generic community yoga class in South Manchester for 6 years and also a specific parent carers yoga class in conjunction with Manchester Parent Carer Forum. She works directly with Carers organisations, bringing sessions to existing support groups and has also hugely enjoyed working with other practitioners to offer creative yoga workshops.

Tammy is committed to offering accessible yoga to others, especially fellow carers, to share practical tools to regulate and soothe, bringing peace and clarity, that she has experienced through the practice of yoga, to others.
